We are proud to announce that Feedback Medical CEO Dr Tom Oakley has been named an NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) Fellow following a competitive selection process. The launch event took place at the Digital Health Rewired conference in Birmingham on Wednesday 19 March.

The cohort of NIA fellows represents a diverse range of health and social care solutions poised to revolutionise patient care and drive positive change across the NHS and wider healthcare landscape.

The NIA is an award-winning initiative, working to support NHS Long Term Plan priorities by accelerating uptake of promising innovations for patient, population and NHS staff benefit. Delivered by the Health Innovation Network, the NIA is commissioned by the NHS Accelerated Access Collaborative. Selected following a rigorous application process, NIA Fellows are chosen because they offer a unique solution designed to address some of the most pressing challenges facing healthcare today.

“I am delighted to have been named a Fellow – a testament to Feedback’s focus on developing innovative, real-world solutions where digitisation and patient-centric models are becoming increasingly prevalent. There is an urgent need for better use of technology in the NHS and we believe that given the wider discourse we are well placed to provide much needed solutions.

“Ultimately, per the Secretary of State’s comments regarding changes to NHSE, this is about getting a better deal for taxpayers and clinicians through central procurement and getting the latest cutting edge technology into the hands of staff and patients much faster – exactly what we’re providing with Bleepa®.” Dr Tom Oakley CEO, Feedback Medical

About NHS Innovation Accelerator

Launched in 2015, the NIA is commissioned by the Accelerated Access Collaborative at NHS England. It is delivered in partnership with the 15 Health Innovation Networks, hosted by UCLPartners, and chaired by Sir Stephen Powis, National Medical Director for NHS England.

The NIA is an award-winning NHS England initiative. The NIA delivers on the commitment detailed within the Five Year Forward View – creating the conditions and cultural change necessary for proven innovations to be adopted faster and more systematically through the NHS, and to deliver examples into practice for demonstrable patient and population benefit. More recently the NIA was highlighted in the NHS Long Term Plan.

The NIA is committed to sharing learning about innovation adoption and spread with the wider health and care system. Its evaluation stream is helping to broker real-world validation using insight, learning and experience from the Fellows and adoption sites.
